Welcome to Term 2 in Explorers 1, 2 and 3

We hope you have had a restful and enjoyable break.  We are looking forward to a busy term with a variety of learning experiences planned.

All children at St Martins will be attending a water safety week at Pioneer Pool this term.  Explorers 1, 2 and 3 are scheduled to do this in week 3.
Each class must have 3 parent helpers daily.
Please return permission slips this week and if you have volunteered to help with supervision your child’s classroom teacher will be in contact with you.

Our usual fitness programme will continue but we will also be developing our fitness by running over longer distances.  More information about the Huff and Puff-(Junior cross country) will come later in the term.

During week 9 and 10 we have the Life Education Mobile Classroom visiting
our school.  These lessons will support the programme taught in classrooms that
will focus on friendships.  This experience is always exciting and valuable for the children.

Eco Explorers
This term our big idea is being a scientist.  We will have a particular focus on weather and landforms.

If your child is scheduled to have a reporting conference this term you will receive a letter outlining the time and booking details.  Keep an eye out for this in the next couple of weeks.

Term 1 Week 8

We had a lovely teddy bears picnic today.  It created some fantastic stories.  Check out the photos below.
Our lion art is also looking amazing.  Watch this space for this to be displayed!
There have been rumours circulating and causing some upset about a scooter thief.  This hasn't been the case.  It initially started when a parent picked up a scooter that a child left behind - and stories have just gotten out of hand from here.  We have reassured the children that some older children have used a big imagination!

What is happening this week?
  • Letter of the Week - Bb and Kk
  • Teacher Only Day on Monday - therefore School is closed.
  • Welcome Daisy, Wilbur and Nicholas who will be starting next week.
  • As the children are becoming really confident at drop off times, we are encouraging them to be independent by doing their morning jobs and saying a 'quick' goodbye!  We are loving seeing the parent relationships developing as well.  One of our goals is to be calm and quiet in the mornings.  Your child is allowed to play outside before the bell goes at 8.45 to make the most of the fine weather.  Toys will be still out most days inside.
  • If you have any queries, comments or concerns, please feel free to see us!
  • We are really enjoying your children, we feel so lucky!
