Last Week of the Year

What a fun year we have had.  A BIG thank you to everyone that has helped out our Explorers Pod this year.  We really do appreciate it.  

This week we have had fun baking, having a pig visit, and our shared lunch!  Yum!  What a spread we had.  Check out the photos below.  







Well done to Sylvie who earned her next belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.






Next Week:
  • Room 23 are with Mrs Boxall on Monday.
  • Swimming on Tuesday.  Please make sure you bring a big lunch, hat, sunscreen, shoes for walking and everything item to be named please!  We will be leaving school at 11.40 and leaving the pool at approximately 2.30.   Let us cross fingers for good weather.   If you are collecting your child from the pool in the afternoon please make sure you see a teacher before doing so.  
  • Music with Mrs Murray is happening for both classes next week.
  • Please bring in a named bag in early next week, as your child will have art and stationary to go home!
  • On Friday the school day finishes at 12.30.

Term 4 Week 9

Well done to all students who performed their Mihi in front of the whole class.  This is very brave and we are proud of you!
Congratulations to Harry, Aria and Isla for being chosen to perform in front of the whole junior school.  
Harry was picked out of the whole junior syndicate to say his Mihi in front of the whole school.  Well done Harry.  




What is happening?

  • Please bring in the form to head to Waltham Pool in Week 10 - we are still in need of some parent helpers!  
  • Christmas singing is next Thursday at 11.45 in the hall.  We have been practising hard.  If your child has a small Christmas accessory they would like to wear, please do so!
  • On Wednesday morning we will have a visit from some children who will beginning school next year!  
  • Just a reminder that the last day of school is on Friday the 20th and school will close at 12.20 (lunchtime)!

Term 4 Week 8

The weather has been lovely this week, and we have been making the most of it.
As part of our Eco Explorers we followed on from our beach trip and looked at micro plastics.  Then we put on our rubber gloves and picked up rubbish around the school.  What a great effort!

What is coming up!
  • The children will be presenting their Mihi to the class on Friday.  One or two children will be picked to present their Mihi in front of the junior syndicate. 
  • A note will be going home this week in regards to our Waltham Pool trip.  We will need parent help for this.   
  • Conferences will begin Thursday afternoon for the children that had the letter sent home.

Week 7

What a fantastic day we had for athletics day.  Everyone had a go.  Thanks to all the parents for your support.

Let us cross our fingers for a nice day on Friday.  Mrs Bates class (Room 23) are leaving at 9am and back by lunch time.  Ms Berrys class (Room 22) will be leaving at 12 and will be back before the end of school.  Please make sure you come with sunscreen on!

Sausage Sizzle is happening after school on Friday out on the courts!

Some children will be coming home with a conference letter.  Please only book in for a conference if your child has received a letter.

Ms Berry is away on annual leave on Monday and Tuesday.  Mrs Porter will be in with us.

Term 4 Week 6

What a week it has been.  We have had a visit from Jo Malcolm who showed us her her bronze medal from the Rugby World Cup.  
Willow brought her bird in, and we had a great time checking out the Discovers athletics day.

What is happening next week?
Athletics Day - On Tuesday at 9.30 at Hansens Park - can your child please come to school with their school hat and sunscreen on.
Shoreline Trip - This is now happening on Friday the 22nd.  Mrs Bates class will be leaving at 9.00 and will be back by 11.30 and Ms Berry's class will be leaving at 12.   Room 23 (Mrs Bates) is a little short on helpers now -if you can make it please email us!!
No School Tomorrow or Friday - Have a lovely long weekend!
Notes will be going home soon regarding a conference for your child - please note that not every child will be having a conference.

Term 4 Week 5

What fabulous weather we have been having - don't forget the sunscreen!!

The Week Ahead!!
  • Monday - class trip to the learn about the shoreline at Sumner Beach - don't forget to come with sunscreen on!  Please bring a big lunch and water bottle and sturdy shoes.  PLEASE BE ON TIME - THE BUS WON'T WAIT!
  • A note for the parents helping out has gone home today (Wednesday).
  • Teacher only day on Thursday - the school is closed.
  • Friday - showday!  Have a lovely long weekend.
  • People will be come through our classrooms on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday due to our open day - (just in case your children were wondering why)!!!
  • We have been practising for our Athletics Day which is coming up in Week 6 on Tuesday the 19th at Hansens Park and in case of rain it will be on the Wednesday the 20th of February.

Term 4 Week 4

We hope you had a great weekend, it sounded like lots of adventures were had over the long weekend.
CCC was a great success this week.  Thank you for the recyclables that are coming in.  Awesome creations were made.  Check out the photos below.









What is happening next week?

  • Letter of the week Pp and kn
  • Class Photos are happening Monday at one thirty.
  • Tuesday - Mrs Young and Sandy Harrison will be teaching on Tuesday.  The teachers have a release day so will still be floating around (no Dojos will be happening on this day).
  • Athletics practise will continue.
  • Thanks for the parent help coming in for the beach trip - this trip won't be suitable for younger siblings.
